Assorted Animals Announces First Annual Tournament Grounds Event!
We know competitive play for Sorcery: Contested Realm (SCR) in 2026 will comprise Gothic Kits for local play, Cornerstone, Grand Contests, and the Avatar of the Realm tournament. While we anticipate details of each in a forthcoming article from Erik's Curiosa, another tournament series is kicking off in 2026 to get hyped about.
On March 18, 2026, The Assorted Animals announced their first annual Tournament Grounds event to be held on May 16, 2026, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at L'Adversaire - Pub et Boutique Ludiques located at 4303 Rue Sainte-Catherine E, Montréal, QC H1V 1Y1, Canada.

Tournament Grounds Constructed Event
The competition will be a Swiss tournament with a number of rounds based on attendance, followed by a top-cut playoff.
- Entry fee: CA$40
- 60/30/10 deck sizes
- Proxies prohibited
- No banlist
Doors open at 10 a.m., with an expected tournament start at 11 a.m. There will be live coverage of the tournament. The Assorted Animals team will be on commentary.
Single-player playmats will be provided for each participant to use during the tournament. Those playmats will be available for purchase. They have the following inscription:

Prizing
Every player will receive one (1) booster pack for their entry to the tournament. Additional prizing will be awarded to the top four players:
- Four Place: Ignited by Drew Tucker print
- Third Place: Six booster packs
- Second Place: 12 booster packs
- First Place: 18 booster packs, one-of-one The Assorted Animals playmat with a new colorway, and the following inscription:
A playmat for a unique animal who dominates the realm.
